Trustee Training
Time is ticking... The countdown has begun to meet the new regulatory requirements for trustee training.
Effective from the 1st February 2010, new legislation regarding formal trustee training now applies to all pension scheme trustees. Newly appointed pension scheme trustees must receive training within 6 months of their appointment, and existing trustees within 2 years i.e. by 1st February 2012. On an ongoing basis, trustees must obtain training at least every 2 years. Where a trustee fails to undertake the required training, the Pensions Board may apply a fine of up to €2,000 against the trustee.
Registered with the Pensions Board, IFG Trustee Services are now providing ongoing training program seminars in Dublin and Cork.
Our training program provides participants with a comprehensive knowledge of the responsibilities of trustees, the implications of the scheme's trust deed and rules, and a basic understanding of the scheme's finances.
Conducted over half a day, our seminars feature case studies, open group discussions and are designed to ensure interaction between delegates and trainers.
The IFG Trustee Training Program will benefit administrators, HR and Finance personnel with responsibility for managing pension schemes, and all those involved in the day-to-day management of corporate pension plans.
